Welcome To My Life: An Example of a Message from Someone who Once Was Like Family

I’m not posting this for pity. Or attention. Or because I’m angry and want to retaliate.

I’m posting this to show you the negativity in my life on a day-to-day basis.

I am happy to accept the negativity if it has to do with me being a brat. Every time something bad happens I always say to myself : “what did I do wrong that lead to this?”

This is a prime example of the fact I did not doΒ anything. You may note the last message I sent this person was in regards to her son’s wedding.

Except be Muslim.

My name is blocked out in blue. Β Hers in black. Mind you this is a full grown ADULT – over twice my age.

Pardon the curse words.

Now, by no means am I the epitome of class in this conversation. I should definitely not have said my grandmother would rip this woman a new one… but my Grandma is pretty bada–.

I just want to show people the kind of messages I get from people who I REALLY loved.

I spent HOURS with this woman and she was like my own mother after my mother passed away. We were beyond close.

Hearing this always breaks my heart. I’m 24. I’m very intelligent. I am responsible. I am respectful. I’m also an idiot sometimes, but I have done nothing in my life not to deserve respect.

If the only thing “wrong with me” is the fact that I’m Muslim, my life is BLESSED. I’m honored.

If you’re Muslim, please be more tactful than me in your responses to similar hatred.

If you’re not Muslim, please never think about spreading this kind of hate, and be more conscious of the difference between sensationalized media and actual, true media.

  1. Subhanallah though, your dedication to Islam even after the all the hate is very, VERY admirable…may Allah bless you and perhaps change the thinking of these people who give you hate.

  2. Subhan Allah, It’s really difficult when this much of hatred come from someone you love. But you know that she is the brainwashed one .what could relieve you that she is non Muslim, believe me I’ve seen family members say to each other what’s worse than that for differences in political views and they are Muslims and real siblings.
But for your case I’d like to remind you that Rasul Allah (PBUH) faced what is much worse; The disbelievers called Rasul Allah a liar however, he is the truthful and the trustworthy even his enemies testified to this before his prophethood .
an-nadr ibn al-harith, who severely abused the prophet, said to the quraysh, “you are being afflicted with something the likes of which you have never experienced. as a young man, Muhammad was the most intelligent, truthful and trustworthy among you. but when you noticed grey hairs at his temples and he conveyed to you what he conveyed, you called him a magician. no, by allah, he is not a magician. and you called him a soothsayer. no, by allah, he is not a soothsayer. and you called him a poet. no, by allah, he is not a poet. and you said he was mad… o company of quraysh! look into this matter of yours, for by allah, you have been afflicted with something tremendous.”
I’ll never blame you for what you said – I know that everybody has limitations to his patience- but what I ask you is to notice when the conversation turns to be illogical ,at this point you have to give a solid evidence to support what you are saying( this will leave them embarrassed, and confused) . If you gave this evidence and they didn’t respond to it, you should end this conversation tactfully . At last I’d say that what happened and is happening to you (may be regularly) , proves that you are on the right path in shaa Allah-
” Do the people think that they will be left to say ” we believe” and they will not be tried” .Quran( 29 : 2)
Be assured as a Muslim you have millions of sisters and brothers . May Allah (SWT) show this woman the truth and keep us on the righteous path.
    Slamo Alikom.

  3. Salaam,

I’m sorry you have to deal with this horrible negativity, especially from people you know and love. I keep praying that all this hatred towards Islam and Muslims will disappear and the people who are currently against Islam will learn more about it, and realise it’s not what they think it is.

  4. On the day of judgement when u recurve your book in your right hand insha Allah everything will be worth it :’) you are an inspiration
